The inspiration for this approach stems from Jay L. Mann’s personal connection to quality senior care through his Aunt Ethel, a remarkable woman who was shaped by her experiences as a child of the Great Depression. Ethel became a pioneering female professional in the 1950s and 60s, running the patent department of a major corporation and breaking barriers in her field. Her strength, compassion, and trailblazing spirit profoundly influenced Jay’s vision for senior care.

As the owner of Amada Senior Care Richmond, Jay knows too well the feelings of frustration families feel when they are not able to help and care for a senior loved one. Jay recalls, “Early in my career, I had the opportunity to work in pathology with cancer research and diagnostics. During that time, sadly, my best friend passed away from lung cancer, leaving behind a wife and two children. He was like a brother to me, and his passing affected me in a profound way.
This experience has motivated Jay to provide the highest quality of care for seniors and to provide compassionate support for their loved ones.
